...Federation of Gay Games. I love gay sports. The sports themselves aren't gay, but there are many gay and gay-friendly sporting associations out there, and the Federation of Gay Games is made up of individuals and athletic organizations from four continents. I've been a member of the Greater Los Angeles Softball Association and the Los Angeles Tennis Association since 2004. In fact, I played softball in Gay Games VII in Chicago in 2006. It's just a great way to stay active, make friends with fellow LGBT people, and build community in the process. Plus it's not too soon to start planning for Gay Games IX in Cleveland in 2014. ...Peace College. My alma mater is a small women's college in North Carolina that will be going coed next year but is still a huge advocate for women and their growth both inside and outside of the classroom. It's where I was given the opportunity to become a leader, and I'm always a big fan of any place that helps women find their voice. Peace.edu

...Supercuts. For those who are not familiar with this fancy hair salon, it's where I've been getting my hair cut for $18 for the last 10 years of my life. Though I'm sure there are a number of gay hairstylists who just accidentally nicked themselves with a pair of scissors while reading this, as you can tell by my fabulous 'fro, Supercuts has never let me down. ...Oil Can Harry's. Being from the South, I love country line dancing and a nice pair of bedazzled blue jeans, but who doesn't? You can find both at this fun gay country-western bar in the heart of Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley, where everybody goes boot-scootin' boogie. OilCanHarrysLA.com

...Sweater Vests. Some gay men may argue that these knitted gems have long been out of style, but lesbians like me are determined to bring them back! Now, I may not know fashion, but I definitely know comfort, and whenever you want to look nice, just throw one of these over your T-shirt and you're ready to hit the town.

...Journey. No, I'm not talking about people's path in life, though that's really important too. I'm talking about the greatest rock band (that sings love ballads) known to man. I highly suggest listening to them while in the arms of a loved one or driving in a red Camaro with the windows rolled down.
