Tom DeLay, the Republican House majority leader who resigned after
being indicted on criminal charges that he had conspired to violate
campaign finance laws, made his debut Monday night on Dancing With the Stars.
Almost
immediately after stepping onto the dance floor with partner
Cheryl Burke, he pronounced himself uncomfortable with exploring his
feminine side.
"I gotta get prissy," he told Burke while letting his wrists go limp.
Burke looked a bit perplexed and replied, "I guess."
DeLay later said on-camera, "One thing I wasn't prepared for in learning to dance was getting in touch with my feminine side. My biggest fear is that I might embarrass myself. I feel like a complete douche."
After completing his routine on Monday night's show -- a cha-cha performed to the song "Wild Thing" -- flamboyant and notoriously opinionated judge Bruno Tonioli told DeLay, "You're crazier than Sarah Palin."
