Rachel Maddow made her second appearance on Meet the Press on Sunday, and afterward joined host David Gregory for a Web-only segment in which a viewer asked Maddow whether she thought she'd make a good senator.
"Do you think you would be a good senator, or are your opinions too set? Could you wheel and deal?" asked viewer Drew Faber via online submission.
"Uh, no. I don't think I'd be a good senator for so many reasons before we even get to policy. I'm not interested in doing that," said Maddow.
The host of The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC gave poor marks to her ability to participate in big group decision making, which she called key to a legislator's role.
"I have great respect for people who choose to pursue both their ideological aims and what they want for the country by doing that, but I think I'd be horrible at it for a million reasons," said Maddow.
Republican strategist Mike Murphy also appeared in the segment and discussed the emerging field of 2012 Republican presidential contenders.
