The next number for Liza Minnelli could be a turn as a judge on the British competitive dancing show, Strictly Come Dancing.
The Daily Mirror reports that BBC honchos have lined up Minelli, 63, as the successor to Alesha Dixon, a former winner of the show. The program on BBC 1 features celebrities and professional dance partners in ballroom and Latin routines.
The Minnelli appointment would include some complicated steps, however.
For one, reports the Mirror, despite mixed audience feelings about the once-celebrated Dixon, it would embarrass executives to eject her after only one year on the panel. In addition, Minnelli is recovering from knee replacement surgery, although she would likely heal in time to join the show.
Minnelli could also serve in an advisory role, if not as a judge, a source told the Mirror.
