Before he was Barney, Neil Patrick Harris was Mark in the Los Angeles production of Rent. Harris will return to the musical this summer when he directs the premiere of Rent at the Hollywood Bowl.
This will be Harris's debut as director of a musical, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Harris, who won a Drama League Award for his portrayal of Mark, will oversee Rent's Bowl premiere August 6-8.
