Friends star Lisa Kudrow and Sex and the City's David Eigenberg have been cast in a 25th anniversary staged reading of Larry Kramer's landmark semiautobiographical play The Normal Heart. The play, first performed in 1985, is considered one of the most powerful by an American playwright and focuses on the terrifying early years of the AIDS epidemic in New York and the criminal silence of official America in dealing with it.
The one-night-only theatrical event will be directed by Academy Award- and Tony Award-winning actor Joel Grey and be performed on May 17 at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center's Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic. To purchase tickets visit LAGayCenter.org/TheNormalHeart.
