Fashion designer and movie director Tom Ford saw his Andy Warhol self-portrait sell at auction for a staggering $32.6 million.

Art by not only Warhol but also Mark Rothkos and Jasper Johns fetched huge amounts at the Sotheby's auction Wednesday night in New York. But the 1986 Warhol self-portrait, with the artist pictured in an eye-catching purple, was probably the most notable, reports The New York Times. Though it previously belonged to Ford, it's unclear who bought the piece at auction because it was purchased by a third party for an unidentified client.

Another Warhol image, 1964's Flowers, was sold -- Manhattan dealer Nicholas Maclean paid $6.75 million, or $7.6 million with Sotheby's fees.
