Singer Janelle Monáe Not Gay?

Singer Janelle Monae talked to Rolling Stone about rumors that she's a lesbian but stopped short of confirming or denying much of anything.

"The lesbian community has tried to claim me," she told the magazine. "But I only date androids. Nothing like an android -- they don't cheat on you."

Monae also spoke with the magazine about her traditionally masculine wardrobe -- "I call it my 'uniform'" -- and said she hopes it inspires other women to follow in her footsteps.

"I'm trying to open doors for girls who look like myself and have been told they can't sing about this or that," she said.
