An obstacle to ethics reform. The subject of an FBI investigation. Fight Back New York turns the closet metaphor on state senator Ruben Diaz Sr., the most outspoken opponent of gay rights in the legislature, by unveiling the results of a donor-funded opposition research campaign into his past.

The political action committee, which is targeting state lawmakers who voted against marriage equality last year, called for donations to support research to build a case against reelecting Diaz. The incumbent Democrat and Pentecostal minister from the Bronx faces a primary challenge from Charlie Ramos on September 14.

Results from the "What's in Ruben's Closet" campaign were revealed Monday afternoon on the site TruthAboutDiaz.com.
