Liza Minnelli will discuss the legacy of her equally-iconic parents, entertainer Judy Garland and film director Vincente Minnelli, in a rare television interview. Minnelli will sit down with Robert Osborne, host of Turner Classic Movies, for Private Screenings: Liza Minnelli, an in-depth interview special scheduled to premiere December 11. The cable network will devote two evenings, December 11 and 14, to films that either starred Garland, were directed by Minnelli, or starred Liza, including the TCM premiere of 1976's A Matter of Time, a rarely seen film in which Minnelli directed his daughter.

"Liza Minnelli has a perspective about Hollywood unlike anyone else," Osborne says in a statement released to the press today. "She is an Academy Award-winning actress with parents who both were also Oscar winners. Her playground was soundstages, where she watched her parents and other film icons work, so she has insights into their world, which became her world. Her story is at once fascinating, dramatic, and touching and has never been extensively told before. We're very excited to be able to devote two nights to celebrating the lives and work of this extraordinary family."
