What would you do if you witnessed a father berating his son in public for being gay? That's the question posed to patrons at Rockn' Joe cafe in Westfield, N.J., in the latest episode of What Would You Do? on ABC.
The episode, which airs Friday at 9 p.m. Eastern, kicks off with a teen actor telling the man playing his father, "Dad, I need to tell you something. I'm gay."
The father responds, "You're not gay. Forget about it!" He follows that with suggesting reparative therapy, telling his son there are ways to fix this.
Patrons are noticeably uncomfortable -- two so much so that they get up and leave the restaurant. But will any of them actually step up to the plate and confront the father?
What Would You Do? has featured teens bullying a gay kid, gay parents, and a gay couple showing a public display of affection in previous episodes.
