Mila Kunis says she isn't surprised by the intense interest from gay audiences in her new film Black Swan, which opened today to exceptional reviews and buzz as a possible awards contender.
"We didn't have Cher in our movie, but we figured gay people would still be into it," Kunis jokes in a forthcoming interview with The Advocate.
Asked if she was annoyed by the media's focus on Black Swan's same-sex love scene between her and costar Natalie Portman, Kunis admits, "No, but it is surprising how many times that's all people wanted to talk about. I just wish everyone could walk out of an hour-and-a-half movie with something to talk about other than that one scene."
Kunis also states that she doesn't consider her character, Lily, to be a lesbian."I just saw her as a free spirit living her 20s in New York City."
