Three members of a gang accused of murdering an American and drugging at least 50 others at a gay bar in Rome have been arrested.
According to London's Guardian, "Police suspect that Kelly Cullen, 56, who was found dead on 14 November in the Colle Oppio park overlooking the Colosseum, was one of the victims of the gang, which preyed for months on foreigners mingling in the street outside the nearby Coming Out bar."
The gang of two Romanians and one Egyptian offered wine spiked with benzodiazepine to tourists, a group known to carry more cash than residents and believed to be less likely to report the attacks.
The Guardian reports that as many as 25 Americans were robbed, in addition to British, Spanish, Swiss, and German tourists.
