Pete Wentz is about to be back on the market.
The Fall Out Boy bassist and lyricist is getting a divorce from his wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. Simpson-Wentz filed documents in Los Angeles superior court Wednesday, citing "irreconcilable differences." She is seeking joint legal custody and primary physical custody of their 2-year-old son, Bronx.
The couple married in 2008, days after the California supreme court's landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage in the state. A longtime supporter of marriage equality, Wentz said, "I am happy to get married [to Ashlee Simpson on Saturday] in the same state where the state supreme court recognizes the union of gay/lesbian couples."
In a 2008 interview with The Advocate, Wentz confirmed he's had crushes on men and made out with several, saying, "Anything above the waist is fair game."
