Dan Savage spoke with Nightline on ABC News about his work as a sex columnist and advocate with the It Gets Better campaign, now the subject of a new book.
In the interview, Savage marveled at his role writing about sex for a heterosexual audience, saying, "That's staggering to think I'm a gay man and I give college girls orgasms."
He also revealed his decidedly practical approach to romantic relationships, saying that he does not believe in the idea of a soul mate or finding "the one." That even applies to his life with his husband, Terry, with whom he adopted a son and cocreated the It Gets Better project.
"There's somebody out there for rent for everybody," said Savage.
