Openly gay Minnesota Sen. Scott Dibble gave an emotional speech Wednesday on the struggles he and his husband have faced over the last several years before the state senate approved a ballot initiative to put a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage before voters next year.
Dibble speaks about his husband's struggles with his health and as a small business owner in a tough economic climate. "He pays for his own health insurance out on the open market -- over $500 a month he pays... he's really, really struggling, and we work really, really hard to support each other each and every day."
Dibble asks the senators what family this bill his helping. "Not a single family in Minnesota," he says.
