Versatile entertainer Neil Patrick Harris added to his growing list of honors today with his first star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

The veteran 38-year-old performer, who plays womanizing Barney Stinson on the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother, received the star for his work in television. Among Harris's numerous awards are two Emmys -- for his guest-starring turn on the critically acclaimed series Glee and his role as host of the 63rd Annual Tony Awards -- plus a People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Comedy Actor and a Critics' Choice Award for Supporting Actor in a Comedy. Showing support for Harris was his longtime partner, actor David Burtka, as well as Jason Segel, his costar on the popular sitcom, and director Joss Whedon.
