ABC's sharply-written sitcom Happy Endings, which features Max, a non-stereotypical gay character played by Adam Pally, reached an all-time high rating last night. With the World Series game rained out, last night's Halloween episode saw the struggling sophomore series experience a surge in ratings, reaching a record in viewers and in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic. The episode, one of its funniest yet had Max winning a drag queen competition and Elisha Cuthbert's Alex being mistaken for a gay man, scored an impressive 8.3 million, a marked increase from last week's just 6.9 million. ABC recently announced an order for six more scripts of the sitcom.
