The Women of Defend Same-Sex Marriage

During a segment of ABC's The View, Joy Behar jokes that Pope Benedict XVI strongly denounced same-sex marriage this week because he wasn't invited to Elton John's wedding.

Cohost Whoopie Goldberg opened the segment with quotes from the Pope on how gay marriage undermines the family and threatens the future of humanity. "Someone wasn't invited to Elton John's wedding," Behar quickly chimes in as the audience and her cohosts erupt in laughter. The other women, including Barbara Walters, then discuss the definition of a modern family.

"Gay marriage doesn't affect my marriage," defends Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "For people to actually say that gay marriage is harming marriage and the idea of marriage is inhumane."
