The Vow's Michael Sucsy is in negotiations to direct a film using the music of the Beach Boys for producers Neil Meron, Craig Zadan, and John Stamos, reports  Variety.

Susannah Grant has written an untitled screenplay that has a fictional story and characters and will be set to the music of the Beach Boys. During its heyday in the 1960s the band was synonymous with Southern California's youth culture and had hits with songs such as "Good Vibrations" and "Surfer Girl."

In 2000, Meron and Zadan, who produced hit film musicals Chicago and Hairspray, also executive-produced ABC's The Beach Boys: An American Family with Stamos. Sucsy's The Vow is currently in theaters and has grossed over $100 million. He previously directed the award-winning HBO drama Grey Gardens.
