One Million Moms
One Million Moms, or OMM, is a small, socially conservative advocacy group created by the American Family Association. Read about the controversy that has surrounded the group and its mission to oppose "immorality, violence, vulgarity, and profanity" in modern media, while publicly protesting shows such as Glee for "normalizing homosexuality." One Million Moms advocated against the addition of openly gay characters to Marvel and DC comic books and notoriously protested K-Mart for their LGBT-oriented Christmas commercials. The group, however, is most known for their failed attempt to start a mass boycott of retail chain J.C. Penney, after that company chose openly lesbian Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson. Learn the truth behind this group and their opposition to LGBT roles in the media.
