Stas Vokman's dazzling black-and-white images bring a crisp morning with a horseman and his horses to life.
Before we go on and on about the beauty of the young horseman -- model Oleksandr Kalinovskii -- or the majesty of the equine beasts, we must make mention of photographer Stas Vikman's incredible control over his black-and-white tones in his photographs.
Delightfully, Stas sent us these photos unbidden, and gratefully we publish them.
Vokman (Stanislav Vokhmin) was born in 1983. He is an open-minded Russian photographer and designer based in Moscow. His artwork concentrates on male nude photography. Stas was born and raised in Siberia. He moved to Moscow at the age of 25 and first started working there as an actor. Stas bought his first camera when he was 29 years old, two years ago. As a self-taught photographer, he began shooting male nudes in Moscow.
Stas finds his inspiration in the paintings of Renaissance artists. A distinctive feature of his work is the use of a single beam of light directed from the top.
