A splash heard in the distance and the scent of chlorine wafting in the morning sun herald the weekly ritual of pool parties in Los Angeles — some intimate, some majestic with headlining DJs and throbbing sound systems. The one pictured here was a happy party celebrating the birthdays of the hosts.
