It was a cold New Year's weekend in Chicago, but Boystown kept it hot! Read all about it below. All photos in this gallery by Jed Dulanas.
At Sidetrack in Chicago, the New Year's celebration lasted three days.
Friday: The lights went glow to celebrate the end of 2017. Dancers, glow batons, Dixie Lynn Cartwright, and Effen Vodka helped Boystown end 2017 on a high note.
Sunday, New Year's Eve Party: Proceeds from tickets to the party went to Legacy Project, the world's only outdoor LGBTQ+ museum, located right on Halsted Street in Chicago. Ketel One provided a gorgeous ice luge for martinis and a photo booth for revelers to commemorate the party. At midnight, Sidetrack's newest employees (Babies New Year) poured champagne from the bar tops while a balloon drop and confetti spray showered the crowd.
Monday: 1/1/Onesie. Sidetrack continued its tradition of a "casual" New Year's Day. People snuggled into onesies and came out to keep warm together. Chicago recorded the coldest New Year's Day in history, but some of the onesies were downright hot! Others were just adorable.
Sidetrack looks forward to great events in 2018. Among them, it again hosts Chicago's official VH1 viewing parties for RuPaul's Drag Race, beginning Thursday, January 25.
