That's a steep hill, Gus. Be careful. Read more below.
Cyclists crushed the challenging "Quadbuster" on Day 3, in which the steepest part of the climb ascends more than 800 feet and reaches a maximum elevation of about 1,500 feet.
Our generous participants forked over $70,000 -- a record amount -- for a BBQ lunch hosted by students and teachers at Bradley (population: 1,048) to help pay for some of the school's programs. The school even concocted the "$100 Burger Club": for $100 each, participants received five-star dining treatment with table service inside an air-conditioned room.
AIDS/LifeCycle is a fully supported, seven-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, co-produced by and benefiting the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. The event raises awareness about the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic and funds services such as HIV testing, prevention, care, and much more.
Since 1993, when the ride began as a for-profit event called "California AIDS Ride," participants have raised more than $200 million and completed more than 42,000 journeys on bikes from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
Follow the progress of the ride and read more about the history at AIDSLifecycle.org.
