As in old sci-fi flicks, the fear of technology used for nefarious purposes is front and center in the new Quibi series Don't Look Deeper, directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Thirteen). In the world that takes place "15 minutes into the future," Helena Howard (Madeline's Madeline) stars as Aisha, a California teen who discovers she may be A.I.

The show's synopsis reads:

"Don't Look Deeper centers on a high school senior who can't seem to shake the feeling that something about her just isn't right. And that something is ... she's not human ... not one of us. This revelation of what she really is, where she comes from, and who has started looking for her, sets in motion a series of events that suddenly puts her entire life in jeopardy."

The series costars acclaimed actor Don Cheadle (Hotel Rawanda, House of Lies) as Aisha's dad and Emily Mortimer (The Newsroom, Lovely and Amazing) as her therapist.

Aisha is a pretty regular teen who enjoys hanging out with her best friend and her boyfriend, but when she realizes she's got cyborg parts in her body, she looks to robotics student Jenny (Ema Horvath) for help. In the clip below, Aisha and Jenny clearly have chemistry and use the L word toward each other, as in they admit they "like" each other.
