Ricky Martin Memoir in November

CKY MARTIN 2 X390 (RICKYMARTIN.COM) | ADVOCATE.COM

The memoir Ricky Martin was working on when he came out on his website earlier this year is finally complete, the singer says.

Martin tweeted Friday morning that the book will be called Me and is due in stores this November.

The singer said it was while he was working on the book that he decided to come out. Martin is also putting the finishing touches on a new album, to be released later this year.

Love Ricky Martin, finally I found a decent honest handsome sane gay man that I can relate too. Ricky thank you for coming out, i know how hard is in our Latino Community. RAFAEL you are nothing but a negative idiot. For people like Rafael that are carrying internal homophobia is because so very few celebrities come out of the closet, because instead of receive our support, they get mediocre like Rafael.

Matt, I think it was the murder of Jorge Mercado that convinced him to come out. Before that he was probably honestly thinking he could do more good from the other side. He can do more for us now.

Who is this Rafael clown and where does he get th balls to tell anyone to come out and under what circumstances? Ricky Martin could have retired some years ago to live on his investments and royalties. He does not need to prove anything to anyone. I have tremendous respect for him. By coming out, and I respect him for that, he will probably lose millions of dollars. Who/what the xxxx is Rafael? Probably a shoe salesman at Macy's....I could suggest that you get a life but the world would be better off if you just died tonight.

I haven't been keeping up with comments lately but I hate for people to judge others. There are too many people that make hateful comments about people like Ricky Martin. I wish I had came out earlier but I didn't and it is no one elses business. It really no one's business what Ricky Martin does. Some people find fault in everyone for some reason. Clean up your own life before you criticize someone else. Bitchy negative people make me tired. I guess that is the reason I have stopped reading so many comments.

Raphael, looks like you don't know much about Ricky Martin. Here is just one exmple, Ricky reacting to the murder of 19-year-old college student Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado. Please read it. From Dec 7, 2009: ... The murders of James Byrd, Matthew Shepard, Jorge Steven Lopez, Marcelo Lucero, Luis Ramirez and countless others who were victims of violent "hate crimes" should be completely unacceptable to every human being; because we're all human beings. It's up to us to change the paradigm. I hear the world "tolerance" thrown around in the media when it comes to cases like the ones I mentioned above. One of the meanings of tolerance is "the capacity to endure pain or hardship." Another is "the act of allowing something." To me, those don't seem to encompass acceptance, by any definition. So how about this? Instead of saying "we need to tolerate diversity" why not say, "we need to accept diversity."... - http://www.towleroad.com/2009/12/ricky-martin-denounces-homophobia-and-hate-crimes.html

Greg Hernandez: "Desmond Child told me that he’s producing Ricky’s big comeback albums. Desmond tells me that one of the songs, called “Liar,” prompted Martin’s coming out this spring. “He was working on the song, and he said, I can’t live this way anymore.’ The next day, he made his announcement.”

Who cares, he came out for himself, it was nothing but a press release about something everybody else already knew. Since he came out has he made any pronouncements to get Porto Rico to change its laws or to add laws for those that attack gays. He sits back in his high security compound and writes a book called ME, what pretentious idiot, he could use his fame to help a lot of young gays come out without fear of retribution. He could use his fame to fight the idea of Machismo being uber male and maybe have Latin men get in touch with their softer side and welcome LBGT youth to be who they really are and not have to hide in fear. Me thinks the reason Ricky finally came out officially is to sell his damn book which is the story of a liar.
