Pakistan's The Newsreports that a three-member panel has observed that transgender people are a "part of our society, who cannot be deprived of their right to inheritance."

During the hearing, a senior official of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) stated that there are two positions being held within the organization for transgender people. Almas Boby, President of the She-Male Association of Pakistan, also addressed the court, saying that even though transgender people earn lower wages, they are still required to pay government taxes.

The court, which will resume November 14, "directed Nadra not to indulge in 'gender' verification of [transgender people] by a medical board" and plans to take future steps to protect the fundamental rights of transgender people in other issues.
