Roger Rees joins Frida cast

Roger Rees, who won a Tony for The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby and is best known to U.S. audiences for his TV appearances on Cheers and The West Wing, has joined the cast of Julie Taymors Frida. Variety reports that Rees will play Guillermo Kahlo, father of bisexual artist Frida Kahlo (to be played by Salma Hayek). Also committed to the cast are Antonio Banderas, Geoffrey Rush, Alfred Molina, Ashley Judd, and Edward Norton. Shooting is scheduled to begin in April in Mexico City.
