Upon Arising: 101 Photos of Men Getting Up

David Gray of YogaBear Studio photographs a unique variety of men. In his RePose series of men sleeping, writhing, and entangled in white sheets, the sameness of the situation makes the glorious differences of the men all the more apparent. 

David tells us, “I’ve been working on the series for about four years now, and I’m still continually excited about it. As with much of my photography, it built upon a previous concept. I had been doing a series of photos of guys laying down, shot from above. This naturally lead to a few sessions with white sheets, and the application of a high-key look I had been using for portraits. Once these technical details were worked out, the series got much more playful, incorporating bondage and erotic elements.”
