Filmmaker and former Saturday Night Live head writer Adam McKay showed off the sense of humor that got him an Academy Award nomination -- for directing The Big Short -- on last night's episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers.

During his guest spot, McKay recalled the time he prank-called SNL's iconic creator and producer Lorne Michaels while pretending to be New York Yankees manager Joe Torre, disgruntled with all of the gay sketches being done on the show.

"Look, I have a nephew who is gay and you guys are doing a lot of gay humor," McKay said, imitating the voice he used to call Michaels. "Maybe just lay off."
