E! Online reports that Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters) is doing the script for the upcoming Miramax film version of the Kander and Ebb musical Chicago. The director is Rob Marshall, who also directed the Disney television version of Annie. Casting is in the tentative stages with names such as Catherine Zeta-Jones and Denise Faye (American Pie 2) being mentioned as the murderous sexpot leads, Hugh Jackman as the unflappable lawyer Billy Flynn, and Kathy Bates as the beyond butch prison matron Mama Morton. Faye is also rumored to be choreographing the project as well.
