Syndicated columnist Liz Smith reports that Sir Elton John is considering a musical production of the Oscar-nominated film Billy Elliot as a fund-raiser for the financially troubled Old Vic theater in London. John was recently appointed chairman of the trust that owns the historic Old Vic, which was run by Sir Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson after World War II.
