       British network ITV is confirming earlier reports that Sir Ian McKellen will take over the role of Albus Dumbledore from the late Richard Harris in the Harry Potter film series. Warner Bros. will make an official announcement regarding casting after the New Year. McKellen stars in the successful Lord of the Rings trilogy.
