Finckel and Wu step up at Lincoln Center

The husband and wife duo of David Finckel and Wu Han--who spoke out in favor of same-sex marriage in The Advocate's music issue--are the new artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Finckel is the cellist with the Grammy-winning Emerson String Quartet. His pianist wife performs with orchestras, as a soloist, and with Finckel. In addition, the couple ran the SummerFest La Jolla series in La Jolla, Calif., for three seasons and started Music@Menlo in the Silicon Valley last summer. The couple will present their first programmed season in 2006-2007. Their contract is for five years. (AP)
