       Ramping up for the new year, Paramount-based Scott Rudin Prods. has acquired its second property this week, making a preemptive bid on Philip Eisner's family melodrama-supernatural thriller Furious Angels. Out producer Rudin this week acquired the rights to The Hours author Michael Cunningham's latest offering, Specimen Days, and set Matthew McConaughey to star in another project, Failure to Launch. Eisner's credits include Event Horizon.
