Out actress Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City, HBO's upcoming Warm Springs) will star in an off-Broadway revival of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, reports Playbill.com. The New Group will stage the production of the Jay Presson Allen play about an overzealous schoolteacher and her impressionable young students, and the show will be directed by New Group artistic director Scott Elliott. Maggie Smith won an Oscar for playing the title role in the film version. This makes two revivals for Nixon during the 2005-2006 Broadway season; she'll also star in a new production of Lanford Wilson's Talley's Folly.
