Angela Robinson
to direct Genbot for New Line

Out director Angela Robinson (Herbie: Fully Loaded, D.E.B.S.) will cowrite and direct Genbot, an action comedy she pitched with cowriter Alex Kondracke, for New Line, reports Variety. The film tells the story of a young woman who becomes part of a secret government operation that transforms her into a cyborg. Robinson will also produce the film through her Pink Thunder shingle. Robinson still has a first-look deal with Disney, but she took this script to New Line after her home studio found the material too dark.
