BBC News reports
that Elton John will sing and play piano on a new single
that pays tribute to legendary British radio host John Peel,
who died last year. The cover of the Buzzcocks' "Ever
Fallen in Love" will feature Sir Elton along with
Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, David Gilmour, and Pete
Shelley as well as members of the Futureheads, El
Presidente, and the Datsuns. The single will be released in
the United Kingdom on November 21, and proceeds
will benefit Amnesty International. Sir Elton told the
BBC, "It is always important to remember people who
encouraged and helped you early in your career. The
thing I loved about John was his passion for new music and
his praise for things he totally believed in."
