Variety reports that out Oscar-winning producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Big Fish) will tackle the big-screen adaptation of Maria Dahvana Headley's memoir The Year of Yes. Paramount acquired the book for Jinks and Cohen, and the deal marks the first buy for the duo since they moved their production company to the studio from Dreamworks in January. In Headley's book, the Idaho native writes about navigating the Manhattan dating world; after feeling too critical and negative, she decides to say yes to every man who asks her out, and the book chronicles one year in the life of her saying yes. Producers Jinks and Cohen hope to have a screenwriter hired within the month. (Advocate.com)
