Variety reports that Strand Releasing has acquired North American rights to Pernille Fischer Christensen's debut feature A Soap, hot on the heels of its presentations at the Berlin and New Directors/New Films festivals. The film tells the story of an emotionally confused woman who becomes fascinated with her young pre-op transsexual neighbor. A Soap is set to open in the U.S. this spring. (The Advocate)
