Legally Blonde director passes on bringing TV soap to big screen.
Gay Legally Blonde director Robert Luketic won't be directing the big-screen version of popular nighttime soap Dallas after all, reports Variety. He had been attached to the film--which had been set for November 2007 prior to his bailout--but People magazine says Luketic had a parting of the ways over Fox's casting choices for the film. It's not known what specific casting choice rankled Luketic, but names being bandied about include John Travolta as J.R. Ewing, Jennifer Lopez as Sue Ellen, Luke Wilson as Bobby, and Shirley MacLaine as Miss Ellie. Fox is reportedly courting Betty Thomas (Dr. Doolittle, Private Parts) to take over as director.
