O'Donnell gets six-episode commitment for sketch comedy series.
Rosie O'Donnell will return to TV under the auspices of gay cable network Logo. The channel has committed to six half-hour episodes of The Big Gay Show, a sketch comedy that O'Donnell will executive-produce. Set to premiere in 2007, the show's ensemble will include Erica Ash, Dion Flynn, Julie Goldman, Stephen Guarino, "Gay Pimp" Johnny McGovern, Kate McKinnon, Nicol Paone, and Michael Serrato. Out Married...With Children star Amanda Bearse will direct.
"Rosie O'Donnell's comedic precision and unique bond with the LGBT audience will provide an exceptional artistic foundation for a cast of fresh and inventive performers," said MTV Networks Music Group entertainment president and Logo president Brian Graden in a statement. (The Advocate)
