Alan Bennett's The History Boys is the play to beat at Sunday's Tony Awards, but even if it doesn't take home the Best Play prize, it has already scored another triumph. Playbill.com reports that the show, set in a British boys' school in the 1980s, recouped its initial $1.85 million capitalization in just 6 1/2 weeks. The production of out playwright Bennett's show is nominated for seven Tony awards, including Best Play, Best Director (out stage and screen legend Nicholas Hytner), Best Actor (Richard Griffiths), and Best Featured Actress (Frances de la Tour).
