Out director Bryan Singer (X Men, Superman Returns) has signed a deal to develop three scripts for ABC, one of which is guaranteed to be produced as a pilot. He will serve as executive producer on the projects and will direct the pilot.

Though known for his work in film, Singer has a long history of work in television. He spearheaded the development of the Sci Fi Channel series Battlestar Galactica and also executive-produced the miniseries The Triangle for the network. Additionally, he serves as executive producer on the hit Fox series House, M.D..

As for his affinity for television, Singer tells The Hollywood Reporter, "You put something together in a quick time frame and get to create something that could have a long-lasting effect.... Television has an organic quality to it; movies are pretty set. TV shows are open-ended, they can evolve over time." (The Advocate)
