Morrissey and the Smiths played the Manchester, England, venue G-Mex, when it first hosted musical performances in 1986. This weekend Morrissey will headline the venue's final show while it is still dubbed the G-Mex, with evening concerts on December 29 and 30, according to the BBC.

The Victorian train station turned convention center, sports arena, and concert venue will begin a new life as the Manchester Central Convention Complex starting January 1, the BBC reported. According to the venue's Web site, the train station served as Manchester's Central Station from 1876 until the late 1960s. It was shut down until 1982, when Queen Elizabeth II presided over its reopening as an exhibition and event center following renovation. Construction to link it to the Manchester International Convention Center began in 1998. (The Advocate)
