Will one of Rosie O'Donnell's post-View career moves involve coaching soccer at a Texas high school?
Executives behind the critically adored NBC football drama Friday Night Lights are wooing O'Donnell to join their cast, TV Guide reported on Wednesday. Lights, which struggled in the ratings during its first season last year, revolves around a West Texas high school football team.
Executive producer Jason Katims told TV Guide that O'Donnell is a big fan of the show. "Usually we don't do any stunt casting, but we have a character coming up--six or seven episodes into the new season--of a female soccer coach who is really angry about all the school's resources going to football," Katims told TV Guide. "It's a really funny character, and I think she'd be perfect for it."
O'Donnell's rep confirmed to TV Guide that O'Donnell is in talks with the show. (The Advocate)
