Three Gay-Adjacent TV Shows Renewed

A trio of TV shows of LGBT interest have been renewed this week. Breaking Pointe, which centers on Salt Lake City's Ballet West, has been renewed by the CW, according to The Wrap. Run by hunky gay artistic director Adam Sklute, Ballet West is considered on the country's top ballet companies, and the show goes inside the company to watch performers at several levels balance work, art, and life. Surprisingly, only one of the dancers featured so far is openly gay, but don't fret: All the guys still wear tights. No premiere date is set for the second season.

Meanwhile, according to TV Line, USA has renewed three of its top summer dramas, including White Collar, which stars gay adorahunk Matt Bomer in the lead and Marsha Thomason as sexy lesbian FBI agent Diana, and Covert Affairs, which stars Piper Perabo, best known for a handful of lesbocentric roles in films including Imagine Me & You and Lost and Delirous. This will be the shows' fifth and fourth seasons, repsectively. TV Line also reported that the fate of Sigourney Weaver's Political Animals --which offered a lot of hot gay action last season -- is still up in the air.
