Gay Icons Lil Nas X, Dan Levy Defy Logic, Make Promises in Super Bowl Ads

Lil Nas X and Dan Levy

Lil Nas X creates a future with Logitech while Dan Levy makes promises he can't keep to the lesbian M&Ms.

With the Super Bowl happening right around the corner, the highly anticipated ads have begun to drop online. And two gay icons, rapper Lil Nas X and Schitt's Creek creator and star Dan Levy, are the stars of two commercials that will air during the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.

A style guru as well as a Grammy-winning artist, Lil Nas X, who rose to superstardom with his smash "Old Town Road," appears in a commercial for Swiss software giant Logitech urging folks to "defy logic."

"We defy expectations, perceptions, and misconceptions," he says as images of people challenging the status quo flash across the screen. "We defy what logic says we should look like, sound like, be like. ... We defy that little voice that says, 'Oh, no, we can't' with a roar back that says, 'Oh, yes, we will.'"

"To create the future, you must defy the logic of the past," Lil Nas X says.

Meanwhile, Levy, a multiple Emmy winner for Schitt's Creek, appears in an M&Ms commercial that leans into a few of the social problems of our time. In the ad, a woman hands another woman a bag of M&Ms and says, "I'm sorry I called you Karen," the umbrella name for problematic white women. When the other woman replies that her name is indeed Karen, the other one hands her another bag of M&Ms.

"I'm sorry your name is Karen," she says.

Cut to Levy hanging out in a city park hanging with the green and brown M&Ms, which were revealed to be a lesbian couple in 2015. Levy promises not to eat any more of their friends. That is, of course, until he's tempted by a delicious red M&M.
