On Tuesday one of China's top health officials appealed for help in the country's fight against HIV, telling attendees at the 15th International AIDS Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, that China lacks the resources to fully deal with its emerging epidemic. "At present China is still facing challenges and difficulties in the fight against AIDS," said Wang Longde, China's vice minister of health, during a session on the role of Asian leaders in combating the epidemic. "We would like to strengthen our collaboration and cooperation with all countries and international organizations, and we welcome assistance and support from multilateral as well as bilateral organizations," Wang said.
